Getting to know you and your family and photographing your precious kids brings me so much joy. I enjoy working with children - I love the way they are truly authentic and how they all bring something different and special to their photo session. I have worked with all sorts of personalities over the years - quiet and shy, boisterous and confident, solemn and serious.  Each and everyone a delight to photograph!

I photography anywhere within the Canterbury region. Choose a spot that is meaningful to you and your family or I can recommend lots of beautiful locations - we are spoilt for choice in our stunning region. Newborn babies will be photographed in your own home in a relaxed lifestyle session. Or if the weather is warm, lets venture outdoors!

Although I take a mix of posed and some candid shots - what I really love is capturing your family in a relaxed and happy environment just being yourselves. My favourite photos are those where you are not looking at me and my camera but instead looking at and interacting with your family. 

Photographers are obsessed with the golden hour and I am no exception. I will plan to shoot your session 60-90 minutes before sunset as this is when the light at its very best. Golden hour is bathed in hues of warm gold and soft pink - it creates a naturally flattering and gentle light ... and who doesn’t want flattering photos of themselves ;) The shadows are longer and the light is diffused, resulting in a soft even glow that minimises harsh contrasts and highlights.

If you have young children who wouldn’t cope with a late night adventure then I will choose a location that works well in any light situation. Or … you could book your shoot during Autumn and Winter once daylight savings has started and its a win win for everyone!
